The Bradley Collection Gliderpole

The Bradley Collection Gliderpole range offers a sophisticated window dressing beautifully balancing high performance with aesthetic beauty, and is the epitome of modern living.  The design led range is refined, elegant and meets a range of functionality requirements.

The Gliderpole features an internal glider channel which offers the functionality and benefits of a curtain track.  The wide range of colours have been selected to complement interior design and paint colour trends.  The Gliderpole is available in a Matte, Satin or Gloss finish to delivery a truly bespoke product to meet your requirements and design style.

The Gliderpole is available in a square or flat profile, and in a 30mm and 50mm round profile.  Corded and motorised Gliderpoles are also available.

Bradley 50mm Hand Drawn Gliderpole with Squat Globe Finials

The 50mm Gliderpole is available in a choice of 20 Matte, 29 Satin and 28 Gloss finishes ranging from warm and cool contemporary neutrals, to cool greys, smokey blues and black along with a range of metallic finishes.  There is a choice of 16 finial styles to co-ordinate with a range of interior design styles to complement modern and traditional homes.  This hand drawn Gliderpole is supplied with squat globe style finials.

Pricing: as the poles are bespoke, made to measure items, as you work through the order process and choose your selections the costs are added onto the price of the finials to give you a total.  The starting price is for the pair of finials.

Ideal for Extra Wide Windows, Bi-Fold and Sliding Doors

The brackets hold the Gliderpole in place from the top of the track making them ideal for extra wide windows, bi-fold or sliding doors allowing the curtains to run smoothly along the complete length of the pole.  A single curtain can draw from one side to the other without any interference from any brackets.  The Gliderpole tracks are available up to 3m in one piece.  Tracks over this length will be supplied in equal parts (unless otherwise specified) and will be supplied with a pole joiner.

Bracket Options

The Gliderpole brackets offer superb quality and easy installation.  Wall and ceiling fix brackets are available to offer flexibility in fixing.

Wall Fix Bracket Options

Bradley offer side brackets to be positioned at the ends of the Gliderpoles.  These have a longer backplate to offer increased support where the weight of the curtains will sit when the curtains are open.  Mid brackets have been designed to be installed along the rest of the pole.  These have a shorter backplate so are more discrete than the side brackets.  Magnetic, colour co-ordinated cover plates are supplied with all wall brackets to hide the fixings for a polished finish.

Heavyweight side and mid brackets are also available.  These are recommended for heavyweight curtains.  Adjustable side brackets are also available.  These are supplied as standard with bent tracks to allow room for adjustment during installation.  They can also be specified for straight tracks if required.

The standard and heavyweight wall fix brackets are available with 2 projections: 60mm and 100mm.  The 100mm bracket is recommended for wave curtains to allow the fold on the wave curtain to draw so that it doesn’t rub on the wall.  You may also wish to consider the longer brackets if you want your curtains to sit further away from the wall to allow space for window or door handles, or deep skirting boards for example.

Ceiling Fix Bracket Options

The heavy duty flush fit ceiling bracket is supplied with the 50mm Gliderpoles.  The top of the Gliderpole will sit 3mm away from the ceiling.

Glider Options

The Bradley Gliderpoles are supplied with Silent Gliss gliders delivering high performance and a smooth draw.  All Silent Gliss gliders are manufactured using 2 components – a soft component to reduce noise and a hard component for stability.  The standard (2C) gliders are suitable for pencil, gathered, pinch pleat or Swiss pleat curtains.  Roller gliders are recommended for heavier curtains.  60mm or 80mm wave gliders are required for wave curtains.

Suitable for Bay Windows

These tracks come with a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Maximum Length: 3m in one piece.  Gliderpoles longer than 3m will be supplied in equal pieces unless otherwise specified.

Hand drawn or corded: this Gliderpole is hand drawn.  If you would like a corded Gliderpole please consider the 30mm Gliderpole corded range.

Suitable for bay windows: Gliderpoles are suitable for bay windows.  Please refer to the Bay Window Information & Advice tab.

Weight suitability: these tracks are suitable for all curtain weights.  For heavier curtains the heavyweight brackets are recommended.

    Wall Fixing:

    Standard and heavy duty wall fix brackets are available with 2 projections: 60mm and 100mm.  Side brackets are supplied for the ends of the Gliderpoles where the weight of the curtains will sit when open.  Mid brackets will be supplied for the rest of the track.  Please note 2 side brackets will be supplied for a pair of curtains and 1 side bracket will be supplied for a single curtain.  The side brackets will be concealed by the curtains.

    Adjustable wall fix brackets are also available.

    Ceiling Fixing:

    10 x 2C (11301) standard gliders per metre are supplied with this track as standard.  Roller gliders are recommended for heavier curtains and are supplied at 10 per metre as standard.  Additional gliders can be added to your track when ordering.

    If ordering wave gliders the correct number of wave gliders will be supplied for your track length.

    silent gliss wave curtains

    Gliderpole tracks are compatible with the Silent Gliss Swiss Pleat curtain heading style.  The Swiss Pleat curtain heading is a simple curtain heading that delivers a relaxed look.  If space is limited (depth wise) it may be worth considering as it is a slimmer curtain heading to the Wave style.  Please note due to the construction of the Swiss Pleat curtains we cannot put a lining on the fabrics.

    Curtain Tracks

    The Swiss pleat curtains will come with Silent Gliss 2C gliders sewn into the curtain heading.  It is advisable to order a Gliderpole at the same time as ordering the curtains (as the track will be supplied without the gliders on).  Please ensure the track length matches the track / pole width when ordering the curtains.

    Please note: if you are recess fitting the tracks to fit wall to wall, or ceiling recess fitting, we would recommend waiting until you have received your curtains before installing your track.  You will need access to the end of the track to feed the gliders and curtains onto the track.

    Layering:

    The Swiss Pleat works well in a voile / sheer fabric layered behind a wave curtain.

     

     

    Gliderpole Measuring Guide:

    Decide where the Gliderpole is to be positioned.  This is usually above the window with the pole extending either side beyond the window.

    Step 1: Measure the width of your window.

    Step 2: The chart below provides guidance for making an allowance either side of your window for your curtain stack (shown as ‘B’ on the diagram above).  This is particularly important if you want the curtains to clear the glazing when open.  Please note the curtain heading, fabric thickness and lining specification will affect the width of the stack back.  How much you would like the curtains to clear the window is down to personal preference.  The chart below is however a good guide.

    Step 3: Add the width of your window onto the B measurement (x2 for a pair of curtains) to give you a finished Gliderpole length (A).

    Please note this is just a guide.  All Gilderpoles are made to your exact size.

    Recess Fitting

    If you are fitting your Gliderpole wall to wall or within a recess we recommend you take the wall to wall measurement and deduct 1cm to ensure the track can be fitted easily within the recess.

    Wave Curtains

    If you are opting for a wave curtain the stack back is a mathematical calculation. A curtain stacks back 18cm per metre of curtain track with an 80mm wave heading, and 23cm per metre of track with a 60mm wave heading.

    Please see the example below:

    On a 3m track for a pair of curtains with an 80mm wave the stack back will be 3m x 18cm = 54cm / 2 = 27cm each side.

    For a single curtain the curtain will stack 54cm one side.

    On a 3m track for a pair of curtains with a 60mm wave the stack back will be 3m x 23cm = 69cm / 2 = 34.5cm each side.

    For a single curtain the curtain will stack 69cm one side.

    Wave curtains are particularly popular over bi-fold or sliding doors or over large expanses of floor to ceiling glass. If there is wall space to the side of the glazing the track length can be worked out so the curtain neatly sits on the side wall(s) clearing the glazing to allow the light to flood into your room.
