Client Brief
We were delighted to help a client find the perfect solutions for this stunning full house project. The client was looking for an array of window dressings and other soft furnishing solutions to dress multiple spaces throughout their property, from individual bedrooms to the playroom, open plan kitchen / diner and spectacular wintergarden room. In response to the brief, we supplied all the curtains, roman blinds, bench seats, cushions and other unique additions to help realise the client’s vision. Here’s a snap shot of the project below.
Working with Interior Designers and AV Companies
For this project, we were introduced to the client by Dream Design who was working on the stunning interior design element of the client’s home. We also worked with the client’s AV company, Creative Home Cinema, for their window furnishings, managing and paying careful attention to detail to ensure every aspect of the curtains and blinds were considered. At The Home Of Interiors, we are proud to offer project management services liaising between your designer and AV installer to ensure seamless integration of your curtains and blinds with the hardware specified.

Wintergarden Room
Within their magnificent wintergarden space, 4 pairs of 80mm wave curtains were specified to dress the windows and doors. The wave heading lent itself beautifully to this room, delivering a slim stack back when in the open position to maintain the light, airy feel and gorgeous views to the outside. For the curtains, our client chose the Silent Gliss Colorama Acoustic fabric (colour ref 101). This fabric offers superior acoustic performance, helping to absorb sound in large open plan spaces like this with stone floors, high ceilings and wide expanses of glazing. Colorama Acoustic is wide width, helping to create a seamless, polished finish to the window dressings. The colour selected also co-ordinates effortlessly with the natural colours and organic textures within the room.
All curtains were hung on Silent Gliss 6465 hand drawn curtain tracks, specified with recess profiles that were fitted into a groove for a flush look. The curtain tracks were chosen in black to co-ordinate with the window frames.

Son’s Bedroom
In their Son’s bedroom, our client opted for a beautiful 80mm wave curtain in the Designers Guild Velluto velvet, layered with relaxed Swiss pleat voiles in the Silent Gliss Colorama 1 sheer fabric to sit neatly behind. Layering a voile with a thicker curtain fabric is a popular choice, offering privacy and shading flexibility throughout the day, as well as additional benefits such as energy efficiency and UV protection to your furniture to help reduce fading.
The wave curtain was specified as a single curtain stacking to the left and was hung on a Lutron motorised curtain track for automatic operation. The Swiss pleat voiles were hung on a hand drawn Silent Gliss 6840 curtain track behind for that beautiful layered effect. Initially, there wasn’t quite enough space allowed in the alcove recesses for a double layered window dressing, so we came up with a solution working with our workroom to ensure the curtains fit.
We absolutely love the space themed decor of this bedroom, pulled together by Dream Design! The Astronaut wallpaper and finishing touches brings a playful touch to the room, creating an imaginative space for their son to enjoy.

Playroom
The client also wanted some beautiful soft furnishings to co-ordinate with the storage unit in their child’s playroom. In response, we supplied a bench seat cushion in the Romo Linara fabric (colour ref Chartreuse), a luxurious cotton linen fabric with a brushed finish. Picking up on the green accents to tie in with the storage boxes, the cushion was measured to lay perfectly on top of the unit, transforming it into a functional bench seat. 2 complementing cushions in the Romo Odin fabric (colour ref Fern) were added to complete the look, bringing texture and comfort to the seat.
A superb roman blind in the Romo Linara fabric (colour ref Gooseberry) was also specified for the window above. This window furnishing, together with all the roman blinds throughout the home project, were carefully managed and integrated with AV. Lutron specific roman blind boxes were also specified. These fit the Sivoia QS and Sivoia QS wireless drives, and can be used for the QS64 and QS100 Lutron blind systems. The blind boxes provided a fully enclosed roman blind system (opposed to just the standard Lutron tubular motors) creating a greatly improved Lutron roman blind solution.
Unique Solutions
In the wintergarden room, the client also had a white air conditioning unit fitted to the wall and was looking for something to make it more discrete. Although this was a unique request, we love a challenge and do our very best to find solutions for our clients. In this instance, we found the air conditioning unit template and made a bespoke cover to blend in with the red brick colour. For the fabric, we recommended a complementary red tone from the Romo Linara range. With an extensive palette of over 380 colours available, this fabric lends itself well to almost any interior project.

Overview
It was an absolute pleasure working with our client on this large scale project, watching their visions come to life every step of the way. Each window dressing and soft furnishing was carefully considered to deliver the perfect balance of style and functionality. By also project managing the window furnishings and collaborating with the AV company, we were able to provide the client with fully integrated solutions for ultimate ease and convenience throughout the home.
