Client Brief
We were delighted to help a client with decor ideas for their new, full house interior project. The customer came to us having recently moved into a new property and was looking for window treatments for various rooms throughout their home.
Lounge and Dining Area
To begin, the client requested suggestions for window dressings in their lounge and dining area. Based on the modern feel of the property’s ground floor, we recommended the popular wave curtain heading which offers a contemporary, neat and stylish curtain presentation. As the curtains were to be fitted inside the window recesses, wave curtains were a good option as they provide slim stack backs when open, clearing as much of the glazing as possible to allow light to flood the room and create a bright and airy feel.
2 pairs of 80mm wave curtains with 140 hook spacing were selected for these rooms. Lined with a premium almond lining, these curtains were hung on a Silent Gliss 6840 curtain track in white. Having received a range of fabric samples, the client opted for the beautifully plain, woven Kayola fabric by Warwick (colour ref Wisteria) for the lounge and the wide width Kobe Stardust fabric (colour ref 05) for the dining area.
Our client also opted to create a striking feature wall in their lounge for a real statement. Mural wallpapers are a great way to make a visual impact, introducing a scenic and immersive design element that instantly draws the eye. The client loved the opulent Quintessence panel wallpaper by Harlequin in Ochre/Olive/Heather and made it the feature of their lounge space. The colour accents in this wallpaper fit perfectly with the curtain fabrics for a cohesive scheme.
Stair Window
Above the stairs was a window that overlooked a neighbouring property. Our client wanted to achieve more privacy during the day here, without blocking the light out. In response, we suggested a sheer roller blind solution for this window. The Prestigious Textiles Daybreak roller blind Avalon Beige was specified, featuring a subtle wavy pattern within the design for added texture and depth. The Daybreak roller blinds are beautifully designed to bathe rooms in a soft, diffused light while maintaining a sense of privacy in a way that delivers style and sophistication.
The bespoke roller blind was made to measure, fitting perfectly within the window recess. It was also specified with a chrome chain, a 32mm roller tube and a fabric covered cassette for a neat and cohesive finish.
Bedrooms
For the bedrooms in this full house project, our client wanted more of a cosy and traditional feel. They, therefore, chose full length, interlined, triple pinch pleat curtains, renowned for delivering a classic and luxurious look. In the master bedroom, the Sanderson Glasshouse King Protea fabric was specified in the Orchid/Grey colour way, whilst the Sanderson One Sixty Tournier fabric in Silver/Eggshell was selected for one of the other bedrooms. All the curtains were hung on a sophisticated 45mm Rolls Modern Country wooded curtain pole in Pearl with button style finials to complete the look.
The curtains were combined with wooden slatted venetian blinds inside the window recess for daytime privacy. We specified the Prestigious Textiles Gallery custom made wood venetian blinds with 50mm slats, in different slat and tape colours for each bedroom.
Master Bedroom En Suite
In the master bedroom en suite, our client requested something to cover and conceal the space under the sink unit. Upon recommendation, they opted for a small pair of bespoke made curtains in the Sanderson Glasshouse King Protea fabric (colour ref Orchid/Grey) to match the master bedroom window dressing.
Unlined with a gathered heading, the curtains were hung on a Silent Gliss 1025 curtain track in white. Designed for light curtains, this simple and discreet track solution was top fixed to the inside of the unit and allowed the curtains to be drawn manually by hand.
