A double curtain track is ideal for layering a voile / sheer fabric with a heavier curtain, offering flexibility in privacy and shading throughout the day. Â Layering fabrics is a stylish way to dress your window and adds warmth and texture to your interiors.
This product has been set up to help with purchasing two tracks to be used as a double system. Â Please note the tracks are not joined together so for ceiling fixing you will just position one track in front of the other, allowing room for your curtains in between. Â The Silent Gliss Universal smart fix brackets are required for wall fixing, as these brackets allow two tracks to be fitted onto the same bracket (please see the bracket tab for further information and an installation video).
Silent Gliss 1280 and 1090 curtain track systems
The Silent Gliss 1090 track is a lovely slim track, ideal for hanging a voile or sheer. Â The Silent Gliss 1280 track is ideal for medium to heavy weight curtains. Â The two tracks work well together and are both supplied in white.
Ceiling fixing uses the standard ceiling fix brackets for each track. Â Each track is fitted independently. Â The ceiling fix brackets are available in white.
Wall fixing uses the Universal Smart Fix bracket system – please see the bracket tab for further information.
3-4 working day lead-time. This track comes complete with gliders, brackets and fixings.
Bay Windows
This track is also suitable for bay or L shaped windows, however they do need to be bent in the factory. Please download our bay or L shaped window measurement form here. For wall fixing please supply the wall measurements and we will make the correct projections for your curtains.  For ceiling fixing please either supply the wall measurements and we will make our standard projections for double tracks (or if you know exactly how far away from the wall you would like each track to be installed please state this on the measuring form).  Alternatively, please supply back of track measurements and we will make the tracks to your measurements without any projections being made.  Please get in touch if we can offer any advice or assistance with your purchase.
Please note these tracks are all made to measure and cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

Measuring Guide for a Curtain Track:
Decide where the track is to be positioned. This is usually above the window with the track extending either side beyond the window.
Step 1: Measure the width of your window.
Step 2: The chart below provides guidance for making an allowance either side of your window for your curtain stack (shown as ‘B’ on the diagram above). This is particularly important if you want the curtains to clear the glazing when open. Please note the curtain heading, fabric thickness and lining specification will affect the width of the stack back. How much you would like the curtains to clear the window is down to personal preference. The chart below however is a good guide.
Step 3: Add the width of your window onto the ‘B’ measurement (x 2 for a pair of curtains) to give you the finished track length (A).
Recess Fitting
If you are fitting your track wall to wall or within a recess we recommend you take the wall to wall measurement and deduct 1cm for hand drawn and corded tracks to ensure the track can be fitted easily within the recess. For motorised tracks we recommend you deduct 2cm from your wall to wall measurement to ensure enough space to fit the curtain around the motor.
Measuring Curtain Track lengths for Wave Curtains
If you are opting for a wave curtain the stack back is a mathematical calculation. A curtain stacks back 18cm per metre of curtain track with an 80mm wave heading, and 23cm per metre of track with a 60mm wave heading.
Please see the example below:
On a 3m track for a pair of curtains with an 80mm wave the stack back will be 3m x 18cm = 54cm / 2 = 27cm each side.
For a single curtain the curtain will stack 54cm one side.
On a 3m track for a pair of curtains with a 60mm wave the stack back will be 3m x 23cm = 69cm / 2 = 34.5cm each side.
For a single curtain the curtain will stack 69cm one side.
Wave curtains are particularly popular over bi-fold or sliding doors or over large expanses of floor to ceiling glass. If there is wall space to the side of the glazing the track length can be worked out so the curtain neatly sits on the side wall(s) clearing the glazing to allow the light to flood into your room.
