Client Brief
We were delighted to help a client with this magnificent double layer Swiss pleat and wave curtain project for their stunning, contemporary style master bedroom. They initially contacted us looking for some curtains and tracks to help provide a level of privacy in their space. We also supplied complementing curtains and tracks for other rooms in their home including their beautiful bathroom and stylish en suite.
Curtain Solution
For the bedroom, our client opted for a double layer window dressing, consisting of a popular 80mm wave curtain (140 hook spacing) in front with a Swiss Pleat voile positioned neatly behind. Layering curtains is a great solution for enhanced privacy and shading, whilst also helping to retain warmth.
The wave curtain heading perfectly complements the modern and minimalist aesthetic of the room, providing a neat and consistent wave with a slim stack back. The Silent Gliss Swiss pleat heading for the voiles creates a more relaxed and floaty look, ideally suited to the bedroom setting. Together, these curtains provide a beautiful window dressing that is both sleek and functional.
Fabric Selection
In terms of fabric selection, our client had already chosen the Fission fabric from the Harlequin range – a smart, two toned plain that sits beautifully with their scheme. This was selected for the main wave curtains.
For extra privacy, we also recommended a semi-sheer fabric for the voiles. After arranging for a small selection of samples to be sent out, they opted for the versatile Silent Gliss Colorama 2 fabric (colour ref 410). Colorama 2 is a high-performing, semi-transparent, wide width fabric with inherent fire retardant and acoustical properties.
Curtain Tracks
The Silent Gliss 6243 Ceiling Recessed Curtain Track was specified to hang the curtains. A hand drawn, single channel track designed for medium to heavy weight curtains, this made to measure solution features a thin recess profile that sits within the ceiling for a flush finish. It is also compatible with the wave curtain heading.
As the client contacted us during the building stages of their project, the tracks could be integrated into the plans to provide a sleek, floor to ceiling look that is both seamless and minimalist for an air of hotel chic at home!
Flow Throughout the Home
For consistency and flow throughout their home, our client also features some Colorama 2 wave voiles in other rooms including their stunning main bathroom (image 1 below) and en suite (image 2 below). Stylish and contemporary, the curtains bring softness and privacy to these breathtaking spaces.
Overview
Our client was delighted with the end result. The double layer Swiss pleat and wave curtains in the master bedroom bring form and function to this inviting space whilst the other curtains create a seamless flow throughout this beautifully styled home.
