Curtain and Blind Client Project

Client Brief

We were delighted to help a returning client with another exciting curtain and blind project for their new build property. The client previously came to us for roman blind solutions for their bedrooms and was now looking for various window treatments to dress the living room and kitchen areas.

Design Consultation

To kickstart the process, the client attended a bespoke design consultation with one of our Home Interiors Specialists at our showroom in Brockenhurst. Here, the client discussed their requirements and shared inspiration images with us to pinpoint the exact look they wanted to achieve. We also visited their home where we discussed fabric samples of interest that would complement their existing colour scheme. Once we had a good idea of what the client wanted, we mocked up some of the curtain and blind designs to help the client visualise how they would look at the windows.

Lounge Curtains & Blinds

For the lounge, a beautiful pair of double pinch pleat curtains were specified, meeting in the middle to dress the wide, crittall style patio doors. Made up in the Villa Nova Kempton fabric (colour ref Putty), these curtains were lined, delivering a neat and sophisticated look that works seamlessly with the existing decor.

The client also liked the idea of using a colour trim with the neutral fabric. In response, we sourced lots of different trim options with careful attention to design detail and green tones that would complement the shades already used in their home. Following our recommendations, the client opted for the gorgeous Trellis trim by Villa Nova (colour ref Aloe). This worked beautifully with the curtain fabric, picking up on its subtle diamond pattern, whilst also matching the wall colour for a cohesive look.

The curtains were hung on a Silent Gliss 1280 curtain track, wall fixed outside the recess. A coordinating pelmet in the same fabric and trim as the curtain was also specified to conceal the track for a clean and polished finish.

Our client also opted for a matching roman blind for the smaller window featured at the opposite end of the room. This brought a sense of flow and cohesion to the space whilst offering functionality and style. To complete the look, we also suggested adding some cosy cushions in co-ordinating fabrics for a touch of warmth and homeliness. We recommended a selection of fabric designs from the same pattern book as the curtain and blind fabric, ensuring they complement each other tonally through style / pattern. The client liked this idea and opted for cushions in the Villa Nova Twyford (colour ref Marjoram) and Dorney (colour ref Holly) fabrics, adding harmonious colour accents to the sitting area to tie everything together.

Kitchen Blinds

For the kitchen window, our client requested another roman blind solution in neutral tones. They also liked the wavy aesthetic of scalloped detailing and wanted to incorporate this into the window dressing. In response, we specified a lined roman blind in the traditional Ian Mankin Munro Herringbone fabric (colour ref Oatmeal), complete with a scalloped pelmet box. The curvy edging brings a classic edge to the blind whilst complementing current interior design trends. In keeping with the green trim theme, the Hallis Warwick Contemporary Flanged Cord trim (colour ref Clover) was also used to finish the blinds, really accentuating the scalloped shape.

Underneath the blind featured a beautiful window seat. The client requested fabric suggestions for seat and bolster cushions to help transform this into a cosy nook between the kitchen cabinetry.

Following the sampling process, the client opted for the Ian Sanderson Inca fabric (colour ref Hollyhock) to cover the bottom seat cushion. Featuring geometric shapes in horizontal stripe formation, this patterned fabric adds depth and interest to the space with a harmonious pop of colour. 2 bolster cushions were also supplied in the Ian Mankin Munro Herringbone fabric (colour ref Oatmeal) to match effortlessly with the blind above.
