Which bracket should I specify for my Silent Gliss track?
As track profile shapes and sizes vary so do the brackets available for each track system. On each of the product pages on our website there is a ‘Bracket Information‘ tab. If you click on the tab you will see the bracket options available for your preferred track system, and these will be shown as options to choose from as you work through the options to order your track.
The first decision to make is whether you are wall or ceiling fixing your curtain track (please note some tracks are only suitable for ceiling fitting and this will be detailed on the product page). Sometimes this decision comes down to practical considerations i.e. the glazing panel nearly touches the ceiling so ceiling fixing is the only option, or sometimes it comes down to personal preference.
Ceiling Fixing
Most tracks only have one ceiling fix option. If multiple ceiling fix brackets are available these will be detailed on the bracket specification tab along with the bracket dimensions. The Silent Gliss Metropole offers 3 ceiling fix options. The 3mm plate is ideal for fitting the track as close to the ceiling as possible. If you need to lower the track from the ceiling for a practical reason, or would like to have a finial on the end of your Metropole the ceiling hanger or top fix bracket may be better for your requirements.
Wall Fixing
Multiple options are available for wall fixing. The bracket dimensions and options can be found on the bracket tabs on the product pages. You may wish to consider a bracket with a longer extension for your curtains to sit in front of your window or door handles, or if you have a wide windowsill or a radiator underneath your window. The longer projection on the bracket will enable your curtains to sit in front of your windowsill / radiator.
Smart Fix Brackets – upgrade to square smart fix brackets
Where smart fix brackets are an option for the track you have specified we offer the choice of upgrading to the square smart fix brackets. The backplate on the square smart fix bracket (image shown on the right hand side) is shorter in height so is more discreet along the track. The standard brackets (left hand image) are recommended for the ends of the track as this is where the weight of the curtains will sit when the curtains are open. If you opt to upgrade to the square smart fix bracket we supply one standard bracket for the end of the track for a single curtain, or 2 standard brackets for the ends of the track for a pair of curtains.
