Roman Blinds

Why Choose Roman blinds?

  • Roman blinds are made from curtain fabric and have a softer, more relaxed look and feel than many other styles of blinds.
  • Unlike curtains roman blinds require very little space around the window.
  • Can be fitted either inside or outside the window recess.
  • They can be a great solution if you have a radiator underneath the windowsill, or if you have furniture close to the edge of the window.

Next we will show you all the fabric options,  if you have found a fabric we don’t have listed, this isn’t a problem, please give us a call to discuss and receive your quote.

The final stage will be to specify your requirements for linings and interlinings and then add the finishing touches, such as trimmings.

Roman Blind Pelmet Boxes

Roman blind pelmet boxes add a touch of sophistication to your finished roman blind and deliver a polished look.  They are used when fitting a roman blind outside a window recess to conceal the headrail which can be seen from the sides.  Click on the Roman Blind Pelmet Box Tab for more information and read our Blog on Pelmet Boxes here.

Powered by Somfy

Our roman blinds can be powered by Somfy motors, the world leader in motorised blinds products. A range of remote handsets, wireless wall switches and timers are available to provide your preferred powered blind control option. The motor on this blind can be powered by a selection of 12Vdc power supplies:

  • Lithium battery pack.
  • Li-ion rechargeable battery pack (battery charger sold separately).
  • Solar pack.
  • Mains plug in power adapter.

Roman Blind Pelmet Boxes Explained

A roman blind pelmet box is made from a sturdy board and beautifully wrapped in your chosen fabric.  The pelmet box sits on top of the roman blind headrail and is secured with velcro sticky pads that are supplied inside the box.

Design Ideas

Fabric Match – you can match the fabric of the pelmet box to the fabric of your blind for a uniform look.  Any patterned fabric will be beautifully pattern matched so the pattern runs seamlessly from the pelmet box through to the roman blind.  This can be added to your roman blind order on our website.

Contrasting Fabric – for a bolder statement you may wish to consider a contrasting fabric to the roman blind fabric.

Accent Colour – you may wish to pick out an accent colour in the roman blind fabric for the pelmet box.

One of our home interiors specialists can help you choose a contrasting fabric or a fabric in an accent colour and provide a quotation for the pelmet box.  Please call us on 01590 615775 or email sales@thehomeofinteriors.co.uk if we can offer any assistance.

Choosing the power supply for your electric roman blind

You have several options available to you when selecting your blind power supply:

Mains adaptor
Somfy Mains Plug-In Power Pack is a simple plug-in power pack that provides a dedicated power feed to the motorised blind. The power pack plugs into a standard mains socket outlet, with the supply cable connecting directly with the motor. This solution will require a socket outlet within 3M of the motorised blind.

Rechargeable Li-ion battery pack (standard option)
Rechargeable Li-ion battery pack for a Somfy WireFree powered blind. The rechargeable Li-ion battery pack simply connects to the motor to provide the power supply. Once the battery power expires, simply disconnect from the motor, charge back up and reconnect for continued operation. (NOTE: Battery charger supplied separately.)

Battery pack

This solar pack comprises of:
– Solar panel

Please request any fabric samples by completing our contact form:

Please advise your telephone number (this is optional and for our records only. We will not pass this onto any 3rd parties. Sometimes it is easier to call our customers to have a chat about their projects rather than email so it’s helpful to have a contact telephone number).

Please refer to our delivery information page for information on our delivery charges.

    Delivery Leadtimes:

Once an order has been placed and processed our customer service team will be in touch via email to advise a dispatch date and send a tracking link if available.  The lead-time information on all products is advised in the product description or product specification tabs on the product pages.  If you’d like us to check stock or advise delivery timings for a specific product please give us a call on 01590 615775 and a member of the team will be delighted to help.

Whilst we will endeavour to fulfil our delivery promises once the goods leave our warehouse we do rely on 3rd parties to fulfil their obligations.  We therefore recommend that a fitter or decorator isn’t booked until the goods are safely in your hands and have been checked for damage and any missing items.  We cannot be held responsible for any fitter or decorator cancellations.

Please refer to our Returns page for information on returning a product.

    Prior to ordering!

We hope that you are delighted with your purchase.  To reduce the likelihood of having to return a product, we do recommend paint sample pots, wallpaper and fabric swatches are ordered prior to ordering the full sized items.  We can also send out ring samples, colour toggles or off cuts of curtain poles / tracks to ensure the colour is right before you commit to order.  Please get in touch if we can offer any assistance.  Please email sales@thehomeofinteriors.co.uk or call us on 01590 615775 and a member of the team will be delighted to help.
