Jones Lunar 28mm Metal Curtain Poles

The Jones Lunar 28mm metal curtain pole range is one of our best selling ranges. It is a brand we highly recommend as it offers exceptional quality at fantastic prices with stylish finial designs. The poles are available in 3 finishes; matt nickel (which is very similar to a brushed steel or stainless steel finish), chrome and burnished brass (which has a brushed antique finish to it). Curtain Pole Contents

This Jones Lunar 28mm Curtain Pole comes with pole(s), brackets (7cm, 11cm or ceiling fix), rings (if specified) and two stylish Cage Finials. We offer a cut to size service on the Jones Lunar pole range. Co-ordinating holdbacks and draw rods are also available. Draw rods are a popular accessory as they enable you to open and close your curtains without touching them. Please note draw rods are not compatible with eyelet curtains. The Jones holdbacks look very stylish when used as a tieback hook with one of the Jones tiebacks.

Bracket Advice

The standard wall fix brackets are available with a 7cm or 11cm projection which is the measurement from the wall to the middle of the pole. If you have eyelet curtains you may wish to consider the 11cm brackets as these project further away from the wall, ensuring room for the eyelet folds. The 11cm brackets are also useful if you would like your pencil pleat or pinch pleat curtains to sit further away from the wall, which can be helpful if you have a radiator underneath the window or a deep windowsill. The 7cm brackets will reduce light ingress around the edges of the curtains and will help to retain more heat as the curtains will sit closer to the walls.

Ceiling fix brackets are also available (please note the ceiling fix bracket isn’t suitable for eyelet curtains as the bracket stem isn’t long enough for an eyelet heading). If you are looking for a ceiling fix option for an eyelet curtain please consider the Neo 28mm range or Jones Strand 35mm range of curtain poles). Extra brackets, recess brackets and passing brackets are available in the Jones Lunar range should you require these. Passing brackets are recommended on longer pole lengths to offer additional support. Please note passing brackets are only compatible with the 7cm standard bracket and for curtain headings that require rings (as eyelet curtains cannot passover the passing brackets).

Pole lengths: available up to 6m making them an ideal choice for extra wide windows, bi-fold and sliding doors.

Matt Nickel and Chrome: poles up to 300cm are supplied as a single pole length. Poles over 300cm are supplied in 2 pieces with a joining piece. The joining piece is fitted inside the poles to join the poles and the centre bracket conceals and supports the join. Please view our YouTube video that shows how the joining piece is fitted.

Burnished Brass: poles up to 240cm are supplied as a single pole length. Poles over 240cm are supplied in 2 pieces with a joining piece. Please note the 300cm and 600cm lengths are not available in the burnished brass finish. Pole length information: please note the pole length excludes the finials.

Poles up to 300cm (240cm in burnished brass) are supplied as a single pole. Poles over 300cm (over 240cm in burnished brass) are supplied in 2 pieces with a joining piece to connect the 2 poles. The joining piece goes inside the poles so is hidden and the centre bracket supports the join.

The 300cm and 600cm lengths are not available in the burnished brass finish. If you are looking for a curtain pole in this finish in a 300cm or 600cm length we would recommend the Rolls Neo 28mm curtain pole range in spun brass.

These curtain poles are suitable for all curtain heading types.

You will need rings if you opt for a pencil pleat, pinch pleat or other taped curtain heading style.

Rings are not required for eyelet curtains, tab top, tie or channel curtains.

Eyelet curtain recommendations: 40mm eyelets are ideal for 28mm poles and can be specified when ordering made to measure eyelet curtains.

Readymade eyelet curtains typically come with 40mm eyelets so go well with a 28mm pole.

Made to Measure Curtains:

You may prefer made to measure curtains for your curtain pole. Shop our range of fabrics that can be made into beautiful curtains to fit your requirements.

Readymade curtains are only suitable for curtain poles up to 360cm. If you require curtains to fit a wider pole, or you have a drop longer than the standard readymade drops made to measures curtains are the perfect choice.

Measuring Guide for a Curtain Pole:

Decide where the pole is to be positioned. This is usually above the window with the pole extending either side beyond the window.

Step 1: Measure the width of your window.

Step 2: The chart below provides guidance for making an allowance either side of your window for your curtain stack (shown as ‘B’ on the diagram above). This is particularly important if you want the curtains to clear the glazing when open. Please note the curtain heading, fabric thickness and lining specification will affect the width of the stack back. How much you would like the curtains to clear the window is down to personal preference. The chart below is however a good guide.

Step 3: Add the width of your window onto the B measurement (x2 for a pair of curtains) to give you a finished pole length (A).

Please note this is just a guide so we recommend choosing the pole length available within your preferred curtain pole range that best suits your requirements. All poles can be cut to size with a junior hacksaw or we can cut these poles to size for you (please note the pole length requested excludes the finials).
