Client Brief
It was a pleasure working on this superb project for a client’s cottage style kitchen. The client initially came to us for some advice on fabric for a roman blind to dress their beautiful kitchen windows. They also wanted a curtain that would roll up to go over their stable style door.

Fabric Selection
We were delighted to invite the client into our showroom for a bespoke design consultation to discuss their fabric requirements. They wanted something in keeping with the cottage feel and the style of their decor. In response, we looked at the existing furnishings in other rooms for colour inspiration and selected a few fabrics that fit the brief. Following a set of recommendations, the client chose the Ashley Wilde Palma Escora fabric in Olive for their window dressings. This beautiful cotton linen fabric showcases a small-scale botanical geometric in natural tones, perfectly encapsulating the cottage theme.

Roman Blind & Door Curtain
The client opted for a single made to measure roman blind to dress the kitchen window. As the blind was fitted outside of the recess, return ‘ears’ were also added as a finishing touch to conceal the side of the headrail. This delivered a neat and polished finish.
A matching door curtain in the same fabric was also specified for the stable style door for flow and cohesion through the kitchen space. The door curtain was also self-lined to look the same from both inside and out.
Paint Suggestions
Our client was initially thinking of painting the whole room an off white colour, but we challenged this idea by suggesting they introduce some earthy colours on an accent wall that would complement the fabric and the cottage setting. Green was explored and the client chose the Little Greene Sage Green (80) paint. This colour was a superb match to the green accents within the fabric, delivering a complementary look that tied it all together.
Overview
The end result of this kitchen client project was nothing short of stunning. The window dressings and paint colours work together beautifully, delivering a fresh and inviting kitchen scheme that sits perfectly with the cottage style of the property.
