Vertical Blinds Client Project

Client Brief

It was a pleasure helping a local client with this beautiful vertical blinds project for the windows and doors located at the back and front of their house. Following a local home visit from our team to help measure up, the client also wanted to discuss additional curtains and wallpapers for various bedrooms, requesting recommendations to help enhance the decor.

Vertical Blind Solutions

For this client project, we were delighted to supply 2 sets of vertical blinds. The first blind featured the Style Studio Shona fabric (colour ref Taupe) and was motorised to offer a level of privacy, security and convenience in the hallway at the front of their house (see image 1 below). For the sun room located at the back of the property, the client wanted something that could help with light and heat management throughout the day. In response, a pair of hand operated vertical blinds in the Style Studio Ribbons ASC fabric (colour ref Silver) was specified to dress the bi-fold doors, offering superb performance when drawn and stacking neatly when open to maximise light and the view to the outside (see main image above and images 2 and 3 below). Each fabric selected for the blinds was carefully chosen to complement the client’s existing wallpaper, paint colours and furniture, creating a harmonious interior scheme for flow and cohesion.

Wallpaper Selection

Alongside the vertical blinds, the client was looking to add some beautiful wallpaper to 2 of the bedrooms in their home and requested recommendations to help bring their project visions to life. The first bedroom was for the client’s young grandsons, so they wanted to find something with the colour blue that was not too old but would grow with them. Following some suggestions, the client opted for the superb Harlequin Melora Wallpaper in Hempseed/Exhale/Gold. This design is surface printed and adds an element of fun pattern to the space with a host of blue and gold accents (see image 1 below).

For the client’s own bedroom, they wanted something light and neutral for a more relaxing feel. In response, the gorgeous Graham & Brown Meiying wallpaper in Chalk was specified. With soft, subtle metallic cherry buds and sprigs presented on a white ground, this simple and elegant design fit the brief perfectly (see image 2 below).

Bedroom Curtains

In addition to the wallpaper, our client requested some curtains to dress the windows in the bedrooms. We recommended the popular wave heading as it provides a neat and contemporary curtain presentation that fit perfectly with the modern style of their home. The client loved this idea and opted for 60mm wave curtains with 120 hook spacing in both rooms. With the wallpaper designs already chosen, we also recommended fabrics that would complement the patterns and work together tonally.

For their grandchildren’s bedroom, the Harlequin Atoll fabric (colour ref Diffused Light/ First Light) was selected for the curtains (see 3 images below). With a subtle, coral-inspired motif, this fabric picked up on the lighter tones within the wallpaper for a cohesive look. The curtains were also lined with a solar reflective fabric to help with heat retention in the room as it featured large expanses of glazing. For the client’s own bedroom, the Clarke & Clarke Diffusion Silhouette fabric (colour ref Silver) was chosen, featuring subtle yet contemporary abstract floral sprigs that work well with the design and metallic tones of the wallpaper.

Curtain Tracks

To hang the curtains, the wave-compatible 6840 curtain track from Silent Gliss was specified for both rooms. In the client’s bedroom, we installed 2 straight curtain tracks within the window recesses. In their grandsons’ bedroom, however, there was a half window and windowsill that met a full length window, creating a tricky corner. To overcome this issue, we suggested running a single track at the front of the recess with a bend to accommodate the corner (see image opposite). This worked particularly well and provides a neat and polished finish when the curtains are drawn. At The Home Of Interiors, we embrace challenges and love coming up with solutions to help problem solve!
