The Amanpuri design features in the beautiful Country House Fabrics collection by Sanderson. Originally an Eton Rural Sanderson textile, this design was purchased from the Haward studio in the mid-1920s and first produced in 1924-25. Taken from the original document, Amanpuri shows a stylised trail of leaves and flowers with a Jacobean feel. Suitable for curtains, cushions, blinds and upholstery.
If you are planning to use this fabric for a wave curtain, please note that due to the high percentage of linen in the fabric, the curtains may not naturally want to hold the wave shape. We would recommend dressing the curtains in the wave shape and tying them for 2-3 weeks to encourage the fabric to ‘learn’ the wave shape. The waves may flair out at the bottom, but this would be quite normal for a linen fabric. If you would prefer a more structured wave look, we would recommend looking for an alternative fabric with a higher percentage of synthetic fibres which lend themselves more naturally to the wave design.
