We love The Little Greene Wallpaper range; the stories, history and provenance behind the designs are fascinating. The designs themselves are truly stunning and will make a real design statement in any room.
The Stitch Wallpaper design is part of Little Greene’s 20th Century Wallpaper range. This particular century saw streamlined machinery and astute marketeers combine to create a new global demand for commercial wallpapers which, in turn, radically transformed the shape and size of the industry. By the mid-century, wallpaper patterns had become much less restricted by printing methods and much more influenced by the artistic expressions of the post-war era.
Stitch (c1940) is inspired by embroidered chintz cottons. The use of stippling (dot-work) was popular in embroidery and printing, particularly at a time when block printing was seen as an indication of status. In the late 19th and well into the 20th Century, ornate patterns in the home were a conspicuous symbol of wealth and associated with prosperity. The use of two print colours makes this paper especially easy to coordinate with paint colours and other elements in the room.

Please note Little Greene wallpapers are guaranteed only when hung using Little Greene’s Ready Mixed Wallpaper Paste (please see accessories below). Its high-quality, starch-based formulation provides good initial tack and excellent slip, for precise positioning when hanging Little Greene’s high-grade base papers (both paste-the-paper and paste-the-wall – please see product specification tab for details). Easy to use; no mixing required. 2.5kg and 5kg tubs available. A 2.5kg tub will hang approximately 3 standard rolls of wallpaper.

Whilst we will endeavour to fulfil our delivery promises once the goods leave our warehouse we do rely on 3rd parties to fulfil their obligations. We therefore recommend that a fitter or decorator isn’t booked until the goods are safely in your hands and have been checked for damage and any missing items. To reduce the likelihood of having to return a product, we do recommend paint sample pots, wallpaper and fabric swatches are ordered prior to ordering the full sized items.
