Our colour of the month is Grey. A gentle colour that can transport us to a place of relaxation and restfulness. Grey can simplify a colour scheme and bring an air of calmness to your home. It is a timeless colour and is enjoying a revival in contemporary interior design.
Grey is the perfect colour to use in combination with brighter shots of colour. See the image below showcasing Little Greene colours Grey Teal (226) and Marigold (209). It can recede, allowing the contrast colour to take centre stage. There are an array of cool and warm tones available. Choose your tone dependant on the lighting in your room and the contrasting colours you wish to use.
Our recently launched Sanderson Paint collection offers an eclectic range of colours in striking and diverse tones. The range provides an inspiring palette of 154 colours and is available in Active Emulsion and Acrylic Eggshell. They are designed to practically withstand the tests of everyday living and include paints suitable for kitchen and bathroom areas.
The array of grey tones in the Sanderson collection include the bold colours of Bastille and Oakeley Slate through to the gentler shades of Quaker Drab and Smoketree Light. To view Sanderson’s full palette of greys, please click here.
Little Greene have an expansive paint collection with a Grey Colour Card in association with the National Trust. There are 28 shades of grey grouped into four tonal families. Choose from warm greys including Flint (236) to cool tones including Shallows (223) and Urbane Grey (225). There is also an array of greys on the Colours of England chart including stony, neutral shades such as French Grey (113) (See image 2 for a suggested colour scheme).
Little Greene wallpapers are inspired by historic archives. The Hampstead paper in Cool Grey (Image 1) is from the 20th century collection. The Marlborough paper in Paris Grey (Image 2) is from the London Wallpapers V collection and China Rose in French Grey (Image 3) is from the Archive Trails collection.
