We love The Little Greene Wallpaper range; the stories, history and provenance behind the designs are fascinating. The designs themselves are truly stunning and will make a real design statement in any room.

The Versailles Wallpaper design is part of Little Greene’s 19th Century Wallpaper range. The 1800s were a key period in the evolution of wallpaper production. During this century, the introduction of continuous paper reels from France, and subsequently roller-printing in 1840, replaced the traditional techniques by which individual rolls (called ‘pieces’) were printed by hand. The flamboyant, decorative style of the Regency Period championed the use of wallpaper. In particular, a fashion for striped wallpapers emerged as they became commercially available; a direct result of this era’s innovative production methods.

Featuring scrollwork and cornucopia bursting with flowers, this classic Rococo style is based on an original document which was machine printed in graded tones to give a trompe l’oeil effect.

Complementing paint colours include:
Inox (224), Urbane Grey (225), Loft White (222), Fescue (231), Wood Ash (229), Serpentine (233), Slaked Lime (105), Grey Moss (234), Tracery II (78), Mirror (219), Shirting (129), Stone-Dark-Cool (67), Portland Stone Pale (155), Portland Stone Deep (156), Linen Wash (33), Sunlight (135), Cool Arbour (232)

Please note Little Greene wallpapers are guaranteed only when hung using Little Greene’s Ready Mixed Wallpaper Paste (please see accessories below). Easy to use; no mixing required. 2.5kg and 5kg tubs available. A 2.5kg tub will hang approximately 3 standard rolls of wallpaper.
