Whether the darker nights upon us or you just some some extra privacy during the day, letting in as much natural light as possible is everyones goal but it shouldn’t come as a compromise to your home privacy. We’ve broken down how the double bracket works and 5 ways it can benefit you!
How does it work?
The sleek double bracket works by holding two separate fabrics within the same system. By combining a sheer with a blackout, you can get the best of both worlds depending on your preferences. Lower the sheer for an outside view with gentle daylight shading. Or, for evening hours, lower your blackout to achieve privacy. The blinds can be manually operated with a pull chain or a motorised Somfy control system.
The blinds are manufactured using the Louvolite System 40® roller blind mechanism with specifically designed grooved 40mm aluminium tubing. The fabrics are formed and held into the tubes with locking tape. It is recommended the top fabric be blackout and reverse rolled and the bottom fabric be screen/dimout and standard rolled.
The side control units are made from glass filled Nylon 6, with an acetal sprocket, sprocket guard and locking spring. The operating chain, No. 10 size in metal or plastic, ensures reliable performance, and improved chain location enables quick and easy on-site adjustment. A chain diverter is required when the two controls are on the same side. Mild steel brackets are zinc plated and powder coated, suitable for top, face or side fixing.
A sprung plunger end mechanism is positioned at the opposite end to the control unit, providing a more secure fit of the blind and smooth operation. The side control unit is fitted with a centre plug that ensures the mechanism operates smoothly even under extreme loads.

Performance
10 year life cycle tested to ensure long lasting performance. All Louvolite roller system units are designed and manufactured in the UK using prime quality plastic materials and include a dedicated steel locking spring to ensure a positive performance. The sidewinders lock into the bracket with the unique bracket securing pin for safety after installation.
Operation
Using manual or motorised operation, all blinds must be compliant with the child safety elements of BS EN13120. Where children may be present, the chain must be fitted with easybreak connectors or a cord tidy.
Bottom Bar
Oval, made of aluminium or pvc, can be single or double wrapped in fabric or left exposed, while circular and the dual face Gemini, made of aluminium, only have the fabric formed and locked into the top part to leave the bar exposed. All fabric is formed and held into place with locking tape. The dual face Gemini bar, smooth on one side and angular on the other, improves the ease of manufacture and use of thicker laminate fabrics.
Maintenance
All of the System 40® roller blind system components are manufactured using aluminium, treated steel and plastic. They do not present any corrosion problems in normal environments. The system has been designed for a smooth operation, together with a rigidity to prolong the window blind’s working life. Manufacturing size restrictions are included in this specification brochure.
Double Bracket 70mm Full Fascia Cassette
Roller blinds with cassettes are manufactured as per the standard Louvolite System 40® and include the specially designed powder coated cassette system with dedicated top, direct or face fix brackets. On specification the user has the choice between a single coloured extrusion in dedicated colours or a fascia which incorporates the same fabric or contrasting fabric used on the roller blind.
The double roller blind system can work with any combination of standard roller blind fabrics. Some special fabrics such as velvets or other thick fabrics might not be suitable depending on the drop required.
Normally a Sheer Fabric is specified at the back and either a light filtering or blackout fabric at the front.
The choice of fabrics is totally up to you. We have such a wide range of fabrics that its not possible to put them all online, however please give us a call to discuss your requirements and we will make some suggestions and send out some fabric swatches for you to review.
The correct bracket spacing to edge of fabric can be found on the product specification tab. For this double system the dimensions are 14mm and 20mm and not those shown above.

Radio Technology Somfy® (RTS) is Somfy’s exclusive control platform which enables users to adjust motorised interior window coverings and motorised exterior products such as awnings, rolling shutters, pergolas and screens from virtually anywhere.
Convenience
RTS is omnidirectional and travels through walls making controlling motorized products easy. You don’t necessarily have to be in the same room as your motorised product(s), or aim at them in order to operate.

This multi channel wall switch can control multiple RTS products individually and as a group. In addition to the 4 individual channels, you can create temporary groups by selecting a combination of the 4 channels. The relevant led’s are pressed to select a temporary group, then the direction or stop button is pressed to operate the blinds. The command signals are sent consecutively to each channel, with the corresponding channel led blinking during operation.
The three control buttons provide raise, lower and stop control functionality. A favourite position can also be programmed and recalled at the touch of a button (‘my’ button).
Remotes
Situo 1 RTS HAND-HELD REMOTES
Situo hand-held remotes offer convenient and simple operation of every type of motorised application. Single channel remotes can operate one individual product or one group of motorised products.
Examples:
Use the single channel to operate the motorised blinds above your sink.
Use the single channel to operate the group of motorised roman blinds in your dining room, to raise and lower them at the same time.
SITUO 5 RTS MULTI-CHANNEL HAND-HELD REMOTES
Five channel remotes offer more functionality because they offer an additional 5 channels of control. Each channel can still operate one individual product, such as a single motorised curtain, or one group of motorised products, such as all the motorised blinds on the first floor. With a total of five channels, you can set the preferences that suit your life.
Examples:
Use channel one for your motorised curtain.
Use channel two for the motorised roman blind in your living room.
Use channel three for the motorised Curtains in your dining room.

Telis Chronis RTS combines the functionality of a hand-held control with the convenience of a programmable timer.
