Rolls Museum 45mm Corded Wooden Curtain Poles

A beautiful collection of 45mm wooden corded curtain poles in a choice of traditional and contemporary finishes to complement classic and modern interior design styles. These poles are also available in a 55mm diameter. These are truly stunning curtain poles and ensure a sophisticated and stylish finish at your window is achieved. These poles are also available as a hand drawn option so without the pull cord but still with the track insert. These products are all manufactured in the UK, are made to measure and hand finished to your specification. The quality is superb and is a range we would highly recommend for both its functionality and appearance.

A standard (non corded) curtain pole is also available in the Rolls Museum range in 35mm, 45mm and 55mm diameters.

Silent Gliss Track Insert

Silent Gliss are renowned for their innovation and focus on quality and we are delighted to be able to offer this curtain pole with a Silent Gliss track insert that can be operated by hand, or with a pull cord. The benefit of a track is that the curtains sit closer to the bottom of the curtain pole and the gliders facilitate a slimmer stack back vs curtain rings. The cord operation also offers functionality benefits. Cords work well at tall ceilings, or if one side of the curtain is difficult to reach. If you have delicate or light coloured fabrics, a corded track can prolong the life of your curtains as you can open and close them without touching the fabric.

The Silent Gliss 6870 curtain track is channeled into the curtain pole as the hand drawn (non corded) option, and the Silent Gliss 3870 offers the corded functionality. The track inserts are available in white, antique bronze, anodic grey and charcoal. Please see the Track Insert colour options tab for recommendations. White or black cords can be specified, along with white (metal), brushed steel or antique brass tensioners.

Glider Options – compatible with wave curtains

This curtain pole comes with Silent Gliss’s premium 2C gliders as standard. These are a unique, two-component glider that offers stability and the soft component creates the quietest curtain tracks available. There is an option to upgrade to roller gliders, which is recommended for heavier curtains for a smoother draw. These curtain poles are also compatible with the modern wave curtain heading style. 80mm wave gliders are available which are required for wave curtains. An adjustable brake and draw rod carrier are available on hand drawn poles (they aren’t required on corded poles). The brake acts as a tensioner and prevents the leading edge(s) of the curtains jumping forwards, so the curtains stay neatly stacked back. This is a popular accessory for wave curtains, as the wave curtain heading tape is stiff to enable to curtain to hold the wave shape, and the leading edges can fall out of the wave shape without the brake. Curtain Pole Contents

This 45mm curtain pole comes as a complete curtain pole set including pole(s), Silent Gliss track insert, 2 classic asher style finials, wooden clasp style or metal brackets, cords if specified and gliders (standard, roller gliders or 80mm wave gliders). Poles over 240cm are supplied in 2 pieces and if corded the cords will be on both sides. Poles over 240cm are only suitable for a pair of curtains.

These curtains poles are all made to order so can be made to your exact size.

Brackets

As standard 2 brackets are supplied on all poles up to 210cm. 3 brackets are supplied on poles between 210cm and 360cm. Poles over 360cm are supplied with 5 clasp brackets (2 for the ends of each pole and one for the centre, and 2 additional brackets to offer extra support along each of the poles). Additional clasp brackets can be ordered separately if required.

Co-ordinating holdbacks are also available.

Due to these poles being made to order there is a slightly longer leadtime than normal of 4 weeks. We often improve upon this date and keep an eye on your order to advise when the delivery will take place.

This track is supplied with the new 2C standard gliders (that are even quieter than the old standard gliders), roller gliders or wave gliders. 14 2C (standard) gliders are supplier per metre and 10 roller gliders are supplier as standard per metre.

If wave gliders are specified, the correct number of wave gliders will be supplied for your track length.

A 45mm curtain pole works exceptionally well with tall ceilings or extra wide windows and with heavy fabrics. Floor length curtains complement the wide diameter of this pole to deliver an opulent, yet well proportioned look.

Readymade pencil pleat curtains are suitable, however bespoke made to measure curtains that can be tailored to your requirements are more suited to the look of this pole to deliver a real wow statement at your window.

A double or triple pinch pleat curtain heading is a popular choice with floor length, inter-lined, curtains that will drape beautifully. A double pinch pleat offers a more modern look, with a triple pinch pleat delivering a window dressing that is timeless and luxurious.

Measuring Guide for a Curtain Pole:

Decide where the pole is to be positioned. This is usually above the window with the pole extending either side beyond the window.

Step 1: Measure the width of your window.

Step 2: The chart below provides guidance for making an allowance either side of your window for your curtain stack (shown as ‘B’ on the diagram above). This is particularly important if you want the curtains to clear the glazing when open. Please note the curtain heading, fabric thickness and lining specification will affect the width of the stack back. How much you would like the curtains to clear the window is down to personal preference. The chart below is however a good guide.

Step 3: Add the width of your window onto the B measurement (x2 for a pair of curtains) to give you a finished pole length (A).

Measuring Curtain Pole lengths for Wave Curtains

If you are opting for a wave curtain the stack back is a mathematical calculation. A curtain stacks back 18cm per metre of curtain pole with an 80mm wave heading.

Please see the example below:

On a 3m track for a pair of curtains with an 80mm wave the stack back will be 3m x 18cm = 54cm / 2 = 27cm each side.

For a single curtain the curtain will stack 54cm one side.
