New House Textiles’ Sheers / Voiles
Sheer or voile roller blind fabrics offer a delicate balance of privacy and natural light. Their translucent quality allows sunlight to diffuse gently, creating a soft and inviting atmosphere. These fabrics are ideal for rooms where you want to maintain a sense of openness while still providing some privacy, such as bedrooms or living spaces. Additionally, sheer roller blinds can add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any interior design. Layering a sheer roller blind with a heavier roller blind fabric, a roman blind or curtains is a popular choice to offer varying degrees of shading and privacy throughout the day.

New House Textiles’ Standard Daylight Fabrics
Standard daylight roller blind fabrics offer a practical and versatile solution for controlling sunlight and privacy. They offer increased privacy compared to a sheer / voile fabric, yet still allow the natural sunlight to cast a gentle light in your room.
New House Textiles offer a range of truly beautiful standard daylight fabrics. One of our favourites is their Japanese linen fabric. It is carefully woven in Japan, with a special technique, that makes it look and feel like linen. This special fabric has a very soft feel and is available in a range of calming neutral colours to complement modern interiors. The fabric is 100% polyester so suitable for all areas of your home including rooms that are prone to moisture such as kitchens and bathrooms. The fabric is also inherently flame retardant making it suitable for commercial use. The image shows the Japanese fabric in lunar grey.

New House Textiles’ Blackout Fabrics
Blackout roller blind fabrics are ideal for creating a dark environment. These fabrics are designed to block out light, making them perfect for bedrooms, nurseries, home cinema rooms or media rooms. In addition, blackout blinds also provide excellent privacy and thermal properties.
One of New House Textiles’ best selling blackout fabrics is their Canvas fabric featuring a co-ordinating coloured reverse for a uniform look inside and out. The Canvas blackout fabric is a heavyweight, high quality blackout fabric with a lovely soft feel to it. There is a subtle texture to the weave, adding interest and dimension to your interiors. The fabric is 100% polyester making it suitable for all rooms in your home. It is also 230cm wide so is classified as a wide width fabric making it ideal for extra wide windows.

New House Textiles’ Screen Fabrics
Specialty roller blind fabrics designed to reduce glare are a valuable addition to any home office, television or media room. A screen fabric is a semi-transparent fabric, offering superb shading and protection whilst still maintaining a view to the outside world! These fabrics are often treated with a special coating that filters and diffuses light, minimising the harsh reflections that can strain your eyes. By reducing glare, these blinds can improve your comfort and productivity when working on screens for extended periods.
The New House Textiles Baltic fabric boasts a 3% transparency openness factor. This openness factor delivers a high level of opacity, blocking sunlight without obscuring the view, and providing excellent privacy. In addition, the low openness factor helps to minimise glare from sunlight, making it a good choice for rooms with large windows or direct sunlight. By blocking out much of the sun’s heat, 3% openness blinds can help to reduce energy costs, by helping to keep your room at an ambient temperature during the summer months, and providing a thermal barrier to retain heat in your room during the winter months.
The Baltic fabric has waterproof properties due to its high PVC content (75%). It is also 300cm wide making it an ideal choice for extra wide windows or across large expanses of glazing such as bi-fold or sliding doors.

Wide Width Fabrics
We have classified a wide width fabric as a fabric over 230cm wide. Depending on your chosen fabric and the drop for your blind we may be able to make up your roller blind without any seams / joins in the fabric for a polished finish. Please get in touch if you have a requirements for a wide roller blind and we can check with the fabric with the manufacturer.
